1. DISQUALIFICATIONS
On receipt of a scoresheet indicating a disqualification, the Results Secretary will notify the Club Secretary of the disqualified person(s) of the date of the next Disciplinary Committee meeting, which shall not be less than 7 days from the date upon which the Results Secretary notifies the Club Secretary. In the event that the next meeting of the Disciplinary Committee is within 7 days of the notification then the matter will not be dealt with until the following meeting of the Disciplinary Committee.
The disqualified person(s) will be given the opportunity to provide written evidence to the Disciplinary Committee by no later than 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting of the Disciplinary Committee. The Results Secretary will contact both match officials for written reports if not already received. The Disciplinary Committee shall consider all submitted evidence in the process of deciding what, if any action to take.
2. OTHER DISCIPLINARY MATTERS
The Wessex League Committee shall review all other (non-disqualifying foul) reports and decide if they are to be discussed by the League Committee or the Disciplinary Committee. If the report is to be discussed by the Disciplinary Committee, then the same procedure as for disqualifications will be followed.
3. DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE The Disciplinary Committee will normally meet during the second week of each month in order to discuss any matters arising during the previous calendar month.
The Disciplinary Committee will normally comprise of the League Chairman, Technical Secretary, Administrator and one of either Open or women’s Results Secretary. The quorum for this committee is four. Co-opted members may be used if committee members are unavailable or involved in the disciplinary incident(s).
4. APPEALS An appeal to the Area can be submitted regarding the decision of the League or Disciplinary Committees.
Appeals to the Area must be submitted in writing to the Administrator within 7 days of notification of the result of the committee decision, and should include a deposit cheque for £50.00.
The appeal will be heard by the Area Appeal Committee, which normally will comprise of the Area Chairman and two others.
The person(s) appealing will be given copies of the original reports on which the decision was based, and will be also given the opportunity to provide further written evidence for the grounds of appeal and appear in person.
The £50.00 is refundable if the appeal is successful.
Any further appeal should be to EB and will be dealt with according to EB procedures.
5. DISCIPLINARY GUIDELINES These notes are to be used as guidelines only in respect of the type of disciplinary action that will be taken against players and coaches for improper conduct as detailed below.
They are not in any way definitive and the Disciplinary Committee will make judgement as appropriate after taking into account all the evidence made available.
