Based on the variations in the BE proposal, and effective immediately the rules that will apply for Table officiating for season 21-22 are as follows:

1.     As per existing Wessex regulations: Rule 5 (O), all Wessex League and Cup Fixtures must have at least one qualified Table Official provided by the home team. The qualified table official must do the score book unless they are required to do the clock to complete their assessment

2.     To comply with BE insurance requirements, anyone acting as a table official, either scorekeeper or time keeper MUST be a member of BE and either that individual's Licence number (LTO, LP, etc.) or BE membership number (Axxxxx) noted in the scorebook. (Please note this does not alter the requirement for all PLAYERS to have licence numbers - beginning LP)

3.     To enable the league to monitor that at least one table official is qualified, we need to know who they are and unfortunately this information is not readily available via the BE portal, so we need to recreate the list of qualified table officials that Mary Brown used to maintain. Please send a list of your qualified table officials including BE membership or Licence number and qualification level to the Officials Manager, Alan Harrod (use contacts page) by WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 13TH. Should you add any additional qualified table officials in future, please send their details to Alan in advance of
their acting as a qualified TO.

4.      It is preferred that at least one table official has an L2 qualification, but L1 is acceptable. On behalf of all clubs, the league will monitor the standard of score keeping and if there are concerns we will raise that with individual clubs.

5.      An approved format scorebook must be used, but this can be either the traditional format or running score format.

Match Coaching: Effective immediately the rules regarding eligibility of people to act as a match coach for the season 2021-22 are as follows:

1.      If a team has ANY players who are under 18 then that team MUST have a coach with a current BE coach licence (LCxxx). This means they MUST be qualified to at least L2 and have completed a current DBS check and recognised safeguarding course.

2.     Where a team comprises only senior players (ie. 18 and above) any adult with either a current Player (LPxxx) or Bench personnel (LBPxxx) licence is permitted to go on the scoresheet as Player Coach and/or Assistant Coach
